Trini Vergara

Trini (she/her) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, who specializes in couples (Gottman method), sex, and Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy. Many of her clients identify as immigrant, BIPOC, LGTBQIA+ and/or neurodivergent. She works with anxiety, depression, trauma and relationship issues, among others.

She has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology. She studied Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy at Numinus and Fluence, and also currently works as a research study therapist at the University of British Columbia's Brain Lab, treating alcohol-use disorder with Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy and Motivational Enhancement Therapy.

She identifies as an integrative therapist, which means she combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic schools of thought in order to tailor sessions to your needs. She is influenced by systemic therapy, attachment-based therapy and mindfulness, and her approach is trauma-informed and anti-oppresive. She believes her role is being a compassionate, safe and curious presence, who supports you in accessing your own inner healing intelligence, allowing you to get to the root of your pain and transform it. Psychedelics are not magic substances, but with proper therapeutic support, they have the ability to help us lower the barriers that stand between us and true healing to feel more whole and connected with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us.

In her free time, she enjoys meditating, reading, cooking, going to cultural/artistic events, listening to live music, dancing, being in nature, watching films, going to different classes/workshops, and especially travelling!
