The Story of Jennifer’s Plant

Recently, a community member generously donated a plant from her home to ours. 

She felt that this plant wasn’t getting enough light and was drawn by the towering windows Qi had to offer. 

This isn't just any plant, however. 

She bought this plant to commemorate the birth of her daughter, Jennifer. 

She even named it 'Jennifer's plant’ in her honour. 

Jennifer just turned 52. 

Jennifer’s plant is a Dracaena and she started out as a baby with a single, small stalk. 

Over the years, her mother pruned and propagated her to support her growth. 

“She's a great grandmother at this point,” her mother noted. 

When sharing Jennifer’s plant with us, she mentioned that she wanted her to go to a happy home where she could get lots of light and be surrounded by many friends.

We’ve accepted Jennifer with open arms and she now stands proudly amongst her friends here at Qi. 

Her mother still visits her often when she comes in for treatments and she is loved by everyone here. 

We thought this was a wonderful tradition for new moms. Watching your child grow alongside a plant is such a great way to celebrate life.
