Meet Elisa Peterson

This month we’re welcoming guest speaker Elisa Peterson.

With 30 years in the field of healthcare and wellbeing as an educator, groups facilitator and health care provider, Elisa helps practitioners to build safety and trust in their manual therapy practice with trauma-informed training.

“As humans we are wired for connection. I am reminded each day that when we connect with a foundation of compassion, humility, and understanding, we are empowered to make healthy changes in ourselves, the people in our community, and the world we share.”

Elisa is presenting an introduction to her course: Becoming Trauma-Informed: Building Safety & Trust in Your Manual Therapy Practice

This course offers  3- modules of learning that integrate cognitive, contemplative, and body-oriented learning to support manual therapists in building trust and safety, within both the therapeutic relationship, the practice environment, and through touch.

She will be hosting Module 1: FOUNDATIONS – Coming into Relationship with the Body here at Qi Integrated Health from August 24th - 25th.

Meet Colin

A warm welcome to our resident speaker, Colin Trigellis-Smith.

Having seen many cases of repetitive back issues, players are often given a lot of core exercises that don’t adequately prepare them for the dynamic movement that golf requires. Let’s fix that!

In this talk I will share my expertise and exercises to prepare players bodies to swing dynamically with confidence and reduced pain. The thoughts and exercises shared will be end stage back rehabilitation - thinking outside the box!

Working with elite and recreational golfers alike, Colin has treated and rehabilitated acute back pain, chronic back pain to the more complex back issues. Each stage has different approaches and exercises to get people returning to play golf pain free again.
